Ioana Raluca Olaru of Romania upset third-seeded Sybille Bammer 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 on Thursday in the second round of the Gastein Ladies in Austria.

The 22nd-ranked Austrian, who won her second WTA Tour title in Prague last week, double-faulted seven times and missed all nine break points in the deciding set.

Fourth-seeded Iveta Benesova of the Czech Republic withdrew against Germany's Andrea Petkovic citing a thigh injury after having lost the first set 6-1.
